Jamie Rawding learned the basics of metalsmithing while working at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA during the mid 1980s. She continued her education as an apprentice to three prominent jewelers in New York City from 1988 to 1991.
In 1992, Rawding launched her eponymous jewelry line, which she promoted via juried fairs throughout the U.S. Rawding lived in China and Japan from 1998 – 2005, absorbing numerous influences during her travels.
Today, Jamie Rawding’s work incorporates precious metals and fine pearls in modern, minimal designs. “My designs make use of basic elements – line, light and contrast. I often use architecture as a basis for my inspiration and I enjoy creating works of art in their simplest forms.”
